Married Life

Well as if I didn't post not often enough as it was, I have my (our) own apartment with no wifi!!! Complete with fireplace, 1 bedroom (with a king sized crammed in), antique loveseat & chair, my black cat, and a crap tonne of house plants (house warming present from my loving mother)...
That and I went and finally married my other half.. sucks though is that we both are going back to work now. We have spent most of the Honeymoon doing married people things, cleaning, cooking, unpacking, and playing videogames (she had never played Kingdom Hearts until now and I have been playing Battle for Middle Earth). Lots of fun! :^D

Picnic in the cemetary

Had some fun with Hannah today. Went to the farmer's market and had another picnic. We went to the Fulton St cemetary again. We like visiting all the local resting plots you see.
Her friend also made me a Rainbow Dash vinyl cut out, which I stuck on the car. She and her husband own and operate a vinyl cutting business. Pretty cool stuff.
Also getting more into cigars. Tried a Cuban Reject Torpedo and a Punch. Both were very good. I bought an Obsidian, Diesel, & a Cuban Reject Churchill to try this next week.
I work a ten hour shift tomorrow closing, then I open the next day. Goodnight.

Everyday is exactly the same.

One and a half hours to go with work for the day.. Goodness it is kicking my butt today. Trying to keep chipper.
Was talking to the store manager today and he complimented me on my moustache again. Also found out that he likes ren-faires. Pretty cool guy when he isn't punched in.
Smoked my second Cigar yesterday. A "Red Witch - Robusta"... And she was a nasty witch at that. Good cigar, just to spicy for me at the moment.
  Gotta jet.

Work, smart phones, & cigars..

Well it is nearly August now. The wedding is nearly upon us, 98 more days. I am still full-time at Menard's. I bought a smart phone, my first one, a Samsung S II, from a friend. I like it.

I became a part of a business, Life Leadership, which is a leadership development business. It is making Hannah and I have hope, that we have a purpose and a goal. Good stuff.

Also, yesterday was my future father-in-law's birthday, so we got him some cigars. Naturally I bought some for myself as well. It was my first time smoking a cigar, and simply put, it was wonderful. I tried a Black Pearl, but I have a Red Witch & a Cuban Reject left.

Alright, time to go to work.
Cheers!

P. S. I am also trying to stop swearing as well.

Summer is coming..

Well,
It is June.. I am full-time at Mendard's now. I work a lot. I hardly see Hannah. I live with her parents. I am depressed, confused, and yet somewhat content (not living here, gracious no).
We have been looking at apartments now that I got that raise, and there is some luck. I don't know why I bother to blog when all I do is use it as a diary (I have a hard time writing my thoughts down, but typing allows me to put them down at a closer speed than manually).
Been taking on extra hours, also adjusting to the fact that working so much and seeing everyone I don't work with so little is what I will have to get used to the rest of my life. Maybe eventually I can return to the bliss of my childhood, where I had time for passions and hobbies, let alone time to read for pleasure..
Also, I like this song.. And agree that it'd make for a neat cover if Switchblade Symphony came back from the dead.

P.S. The wedding is also looming, I don't know what to feel towards it as even I am doubting that is will happen without outside intervention from God, which I know He is blessing us, but still.. W/e right?

My Saturday Night Off 04/26/2014

Well my night off, (I open Saturday's then work 2nd shift on Sunday) and I am trying to figure life out as usual, trusting in God and feeling empty.
Hannah started construction of some fairy wings for her Senior pictures, using cellophane, glue, and poster board. Seems to be going well, she is going for a luna-moth influenced type of fairy.
I love costumes, such fun, to pretend to not have any worries.

Read all about it! MICHIGAN ANNEXED INTO HOTH SOLAR SYSTEM!! Extra!

Read all about it!

Well here I am hearing about all this drastic weather going on up north and I am down here in Florida enjoying a high of 56... Is that wrong? It is quite nice actually, I enjoy cool weather but I want to be up north with all the blistering winds (-40 in Grand Rapids I'm told) and driving snow.. *sigh*

Regardless, went to return some Tea Tree oil I didn't need today, as I've been trying to remove the henna dye from my hair, which I've been doing since march... Problem is, it is rather difficult and slimy to do with out damaging your hair, and I have very weak hair (Which I'm trying to grow out). The way to do it is to soak your hair in an oil mix repetitively until it's out. Tea Tree oil makes Henna darker and more permanent so glad I verified before adding.

After that I went to the hospice store to thrift around and made out pretty good..
A light blue Guayabera I've been eying for a bit, a similar shaded light blue Lacoste Cardigan Sweater, some black Wolverine boots in my size for two bucks, and some scarves for the misses upon my return.

"GASP! Pastel blue snooty booty clothing!?!? Egads! This man is nuts!"

Yeah, yeah, I know, I don't wear Steampunk, victorian, or goth clothes ALL the time. I like dressing up and wearing good quality clothings (Okay, not going to lie, if it wasn't the price and a colour for the spring I would not be caught dead wearing a Lacoste.. I'm not into brands you know).

Semi blurry picture of cardigan.
(Yes buttons are on woman's side.. Do I care?)
--Nathan--

Yes I know this pic is of Chicago, not Michigan. Still gets my point across.

Photo source: Click photos, they are links.

P.S. What the Heck is this "Nu Goth" thing?!? According to what I find, my fashion and music can be called as such... And since I've been dressing that way for years I must be a "Hipster" too... oh wait, that is where the term is coming from.. What in the world is this nonsense??!?!

What to do?

What to do?

Discovering the point of this blog.

Well what can I say? I'm an unreliable blogger, I just have a hard time doing it, so I need to have a point of this blog again.
It will be of several things, I like dressing up or being sharp... I also like Goth, Steampunk, post-apocalyptic fashion, and costumes!!  Thankfully all of my aesthetic tastes can be procured at thrift stores or being handy at needle & thread.
I also have similar varied tastes in music: Swing, Ska, Jazz, Classical, Rockabilly, grunge, heavy rock, contemporary Christian music, Christian rock, light rock, Nu-Metal, power metal, industrial, industrial metal, EBM in general, electronica, funk, medieval, folk, older country music, gothic rock, etc..
So yeah, this blog will be about all of these things, my art, my faith, my musical talents, where I live, work, make, sew, find in thrift stores, etc... And also geeky things, can't forget that!

Also, enjoy this:

Keep doing your thing,

Another direction.

Well yet again I am here to say that I am moving my life in a different, content, more alive way. I want to live for God, I need to man up to the plate, no more regrets.
Therefore this blog will change too, again, I am not going to be focusing entirely on Geekiness, or Steampunk but there will still be posts about that kind of stuff, sorry to any old LotR fans.

He is alive?

Just doing some updates.. Moving into a new direction in life.

My return on 01/23/2013

Well then, I have returned from my absence of leave. I have done much, and seen much, and yet.. Here I return to my humble blog, which is a creation I may despise and curse at at times, to type and to tell of my life (and also to tell that I need to spend less time on the internet, I'm writing a blog post for crying out loud!!!).
Well I have lost my job, dropped out of school due to finances, have a wonderful girlfriend whom I wish to marry, and am trying to get back on track with God. I now enjoy Doctor Who, went to another Origins Game Fair (Idk if I already posted that), aaaaaaand cleaned my room... Sorta..

 Ciao,
--Nate--

P. S. This blog is no longer specifically LotR related so there goes anybody who cares to actually read it for the Miniature Wargaming aspect.

Life 05/14/2012

Well a lot has been happening lately... I've finished my first semester in school (which I disdain) and am unsure what to go for (again), I'm still working 3rd shift, I got a raise (hit the right number of hours... Awesome), fallen away from God in my walk and am coming closer (again... :^/  ), outdoors, Marmalade Dog, prep for GMing at Origins Game Fair, sister joined Navy, gardening, my two best friends broke up (and it seems unfortunately I've lost one...), finished SteamPunk shotgun, new used sewing machine, being bad with finances (working on it.... Still....), tired... Am I crazy or depressed, no, can't be depressed, I'm happy, haha... Yeah... tired, much I am. Oh, and stuff... Oh yeah, ordered a kilt, not that anyone reading this cares because there aren't any readers, then again I'm to blame for not posting like a good blogger and changing what I blog about from post to post and my interests (still God, Nature/plants, SteamPunk, and general Geekiness).. Well now

Hello dear bloggerees,

It has been quite some time since I posted and I apologize for that...So many things but not I guess,so also I've realized that I'm going to be changing my blogging style, theme, and posts/blog.

As for whats been happening,I've been working, going to school, started playing Magic the Gathering (the one abomination(or so I thought) of a game I swore I never played),and yeah..
I also have decided that in the time being of school I as I do not have much time As I used to I am temporarily giving up my miniatures that I love so much (with no others but me around here who play the systems I do) but oh well...

So yeah,I have finished my SteamPunk Nerf Machine Gun,and I also got the double-barrel verticle Buzzbee shotgun which I'm nearly done painting (nearly done, something that a lot of my projects seem to be at the state of)...Yeah.

Hair cuts,Mines,and Mechas

Well updates I guess.I have started painting my second TechCommander Mecha after giving him a key stuck in his back and some spare watch parts to make him look like a wind up clockwork "doll" of sorts.I have tried to start on finishing my Mines of Moria board (that aint going to well).I have pre-ordered Voltaire's new album which is called "Riding a Black Unicorn Down the Side of an Erupting Volcano While Drinking from a Chalice Filled with the Laughter of Small Children!".I am not joking when I say that that is the name.I also had my sister shave my hair off after she dyed it black for me several weeks ago...I miss my long hair and am going into with drawl...Hahahaha..Anyhoo,I'm also in the process of buying my friend's old car (1996 Ford Contour)..Anyhoo,toodles,ciao,see ya..GLYAASDI --Nate--

Flight of the Chrysalis,TechCommander,and Dagorhir

Well this weekend I went to a Flight of the Chrysalis which is more than a Christian based retreat. If you ever go on one you know what I mean and also why there are some things not to be shared, lol.  :^)  But had my relationship with God revamped ten-fold and made a LOT of new friends who I bonded with well plus they actually live in the same state I live in (for once)...Hahahaha..

Anyhoo, now to the second order of business..I first saw TechCommander played and displayed at Origins 2011 (last month, lol) and I really liked it.I talked to Brian (the maker of it and also SailPower) and he explained all my questions and was very professional about,yatta,yatta...Anyhoo,I like it so much that I've been praying about if I should get it or wait a few months.A main reason to getting it now is because of something "confidential and top secret" is greatly influencing my decision to buy now than later.I really enjoy everything about I must say.Oh I just realized,I hadn't explained what it is! Oh dear,I beseech thy forgiveness.TechCommander is a 28mm scale Mecha game that instead of involving mecha's (note:the term mecha without the "a" is copyrighted by BattleTech,MechWarrior, and Catalyst game labs.No CopyRight infringement intended) piloted by pilots they are controlled as a robot from a control ship somewhere within the general vicinity of that solar system. It is a cool game concept that instead of having mechas be the king of the battlefield they are just something to help it along where as powered infantry are the most heavily relied on units.Anyhoo, let me cut the long story (which is pretty sweet btw) short.Pretty much this is a homebrewed (as most systems start out as anyways) from a couple in the Columbus.Ohio region and what they are known for is Wizards,Liards, and Things (If I recall correctly) pewter jewelry and SailPower (a naval warfare game).Oh yeah, the main reason for this paragraph is because I've been waiting since the 6th to have money transferred to my PayPal so I can order a starter..Ugh! it said it'd be ready soon but isn't.

Third order of business:I have been busy practicing fighting and also made a Maul last week (no,I was not inspired by Thor.I actually was going to be making a German war hammer style weapon but quickly changed that to a Red style weapon, lol).

Oh joyous Wednesday!

Hey guys,I know that I haven't been posting much lately and I apologize for that.I have just been pretty busy lately so yeah.Anyhoo this Wednesday I am going to be going to Origins Game Fair in Columbus Ohio and the only way I am able to go (other than by the grace of God) is that I am hitching a ride and then volunteering there as well.I shall be posted in "Paint'n'Take" and I shall be helping people who's painting skills are less than mine (which isn't much IMHO at times...I'm actually wondering if I bit off more than I can chew by requesting to be at PnT).Anyhoo,it the whole trip promises to be a lot of fun and since I am bring the spare camera and my dad is bringing the laptop I should be able to post pictures every night (IF the hotel has FREE WiFi,lol).--Nate--
