Rider of Rohan
Yes,my single 99% complete (I need to spray him with sealent) has had pics taken finally..In case you all haven't guessed yet,I am a procastonater, then again..so is the whole danged generation.Anyhoo,to avoid some of my earlier "epics" that I had with uploading pics and commenting on them(my uruk-hai phlanx for example),I'll tell you then upload.Alright,as you may have read earlier(at least I think I said it on this sight) that I was kinda trying to go for the Riders of the West scheme(more red in the paint mix),at the very least I painted the shields, saddle blankets, and belt sashes red. Also, since I was batch painting all I have to do is some highlighting and finish the horses(they are a pain in the a**).With the faces all I really did was paint them flesh colured but I tried doing the eyes(FAIL) and mouths(less fail) so I recoated the flesh and painted any facial hair and then I washed the whole figure(all of em) in a homemade wash of about 50/50 water and black poster paint which REALLY brought out the detail and made em look all halfway decent,Ihighlighted a few things again and then put one on his horse(no glue) and popped on his sheild(no glue again),the reason I didn't glue the rider on or his shield is so that way I can sorta customize my army every time and also let say I get a butt-load of em(not likely cuz painting them takes forever) and I did WotR(sbg's expansion known as:War of the Ring) Then I could change shields,horses,etc.. for each formation/tray/etc.. Ok then, here are the pics:

1/26/2011
Alright then, over 200 page views(i'm sure that a good couple dozen are mine but still),well I Finally finished a Rider of Rohan today, have yet to even seal him or take pics, lol. After much thought I think I will sink ten bucks(what? i'm broke, what can I say) and go buy a starter set for the long oop game of: the Lord of the Rings Tradeable Miniatures Game.. AUGH! The ensuing horror coming from any serious gamers who read this s***,why would anyone in their right mind go and play such a horrid and ill-put-together game?? Well thats what i thought until I actually started researching it,my conclusion: wtfh did GamesWorkshop go and drown such a great game when they could of made some serious dough off it and use that to keep their other LotR game alive(i'm sorry, but lets face it,within a decade they'll more than likely have stopped producing for SBG and WOTR).Then again,if they didn't kill it there wouldn't be such an avid market for collectors and die-hard and hard-core players alike. So come Friday i'll hopefully have ordered the starting packet and then soon there after be able to crack it open and play with the up-to-date rules that you can get offline(Thank You SO much Captains of Gondor of North America for keeping this game alive),aaaanyhoo, congrats to "boo" for being the first follower. --Nate--

Of Snowboarding and Birthdays
Well its the day after my 18th and i'm staying for a few days at my grandparent's house with my sis and my new snowboard(well its a used one,but it's new to me).My "Riders of Rohan" minis came on the 12th and I base coated them and glued the horses to their bases.I'm still working on painting the riders but its been kinda a pain trying to paint them with so many colours and shades. To be a little different from the normal Rohan colour scheme of gold and green i'm going with more of a "Riders of the Westmark" scheme(which has a rich red instead of green for flags and shields).I also haven't been able to take any pictures of my cat yet but maybe soon..Idk,lol Anyhoo, think i'm gonna take a shower soon Ciao

this fine morning
good morning in the sense that i hope its a good one for everyone, its been a few days and i didn't post anything for 1/11/11 11:11 which also was my older cousin's birthday, lol.so i expect to get my Riders of Rohan up today but with the weather i wouldn't be surprised if it was tommorrow,i'll be taking pics so no worries.today should prove interesting because we finally have hot water(oh its so good after 4 and a half months of just cold) and i'm gonna have to do some shoveling(again),hmm...i've forgotten to post pics of my wonderful cat dusty,oh,and speaking of posts,i got and idea from "bemygoth.com" so i think i may start posting tutorials for that kinda of stuff instead of just modeling tutorials..anyhoo,toodles and ciao for now! :^)

more minis
well just bought a box of riders of rohan for 3 bucks cheaper than off Game Workshops site (excluding shipping but it was free for me on ebay),well not a box, just the sprue and such so i'm happy thats 82 points of minis to add to my very meager army collection but as i still have a bulk of paper minis things will do nicely for when i do helms deep (i actually need to draw up some uruk hai specialty troops but i think i'll use windows paint or something and print em off).so my eigthteenth is incoming in 8 days and that'll be epic(i've never been to fond of my birthdays..idk why).as an update on helm's deep:i used up most of my stucco that i bought but i think i'll only need 1 more,i have most of the battlements glued on,all i have to do is the part in the second ring going over the horse ramp.i have yet to work on where the doors into the mountain will go or look like for that mater nor have i found something for the statues but no worries.i should have some pics up in a few days of that when its done and also maybe of my cat Dusty.alright, night peoples

its snowing (again)
alright folks, sorry i haven't blogged for a few days, been busy..its snowing still (it has been since last night) and the storm that was supposed to come through last night is coming through tonight so woohoo, bad driving weather, lol.since everybody in the house is elsewere for the day(first time since Florida) i decided to dress up and for the first time in ever,i am gonna take pics(i shun cameras with a zeal usually because of my dad would flip but idc right now),note i haven't dressed up for a few months so when i upload pics forgive me for not looking my best.as another head's up i'm do more of a modern custom clothing style instead of the victorian or industerial style but i would do more victorian style if i could but as i have to use what i find at thrift stores and garage sales i have more tee's and jean's than dress pants or trench coats...lol,toodles for a bit

My first blog
alright to whoever may read this stuff,i've been wargaming for years now and have been doing models since i was old enough to know not to swallow the pieces(my parents never cared that much of what i do as long as it isn't illegal so exato-knives and enamel paint fumes were never a problem growing up).i only just getting into Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Games but i've known about it for years in the sense of when the Two Towers movie came out my dad went to a game store for some Magic the Gathering cards and all i could do is marvel at the Helm's Deep diarama set up in one of the cases and now years later i am doing just that.so far i've put in about a weeks worth of labor hours but some more in planning,i've been using 1/2 inch foam insulation board held together by liquid nails and nails so here are some up to date pics so far:
my workspace in the garage
overview,as you can see that i don't have much of
the ramparts up yet.
front view so far
note the stairs and archway
view into courtyard from footbridge
my overgrown and unkept bonsai
so there are my pics so far,i plan on after putting on the rest of the battlements and ramparts(i think thats what they're called) then i'm going to place on a even layer of stucco and well it's still wet i'll draw in the stone blocks then i'll prime it and dry brush(or use spray paint, idk yet).
